Zen Foundation For Atlassian Confluence Cranks Up Wiki Adoption

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seattle, WA, June 1, 2009 – Stepstone Technologies announced commercial release plans for Zen Foundation, a toolkit that boosts wiki adoption. Zen Foundation enhances Confluence, Atlassian Software's enterprise wiki, to allow development of strongly branded wikis that are simpler to use and highly customizable.

Zen Foundation boosts participation by shielding users from complexity while making wikis reflect their communities' organization and thinking.

"Whether it's an intranet, extranet, or both, a wiki engages its members most effectively when it is simple, beautiful, and fits its community," says Darryl Duke, Managing Director at Stepstone. "Which is exactly what Zen Foundation does for Atlassian Confluence."

Zen Foundation is a powerful development toolkit that allows complete freedom of design for multi-person teams. By not locking designers or developers into predefined page layouts, Zen Foundation puts strong branding and graphic design at the forefront. Features include content structuring and organization, dynamic content, navigation, email integration, social network support, content widgets, and user-definable content switches.

Configurable to support widely varied and customized looks, Zen Foundation adjusts the wiki experience for different site areas and users. Plus, Zen Foundation separates design and layout from wiki content, which greatly reduces the learning curve, increasing adoption among non-technical users without restricting power users.

To better serve enterprise customers, Zen Foundation enhances site administration with features for user-permission audits, site maintenance, enforcing site-usage terms, content auditing, version management, and more. Stepstone will provide full support to ensure Zen Foundation fits well in large data centers.

Zen Foundation currently supports dozens of wiki communities for large and small organizations in diverse industries including health care, technology, defense, finance, education, and media. With its commercial release, Zen Foundation's complete functionality will be available to all Atlassian Confluence customers.

Zen Foundation will be released in the third quarter of 2009, and priced according to installation size. Stepstone is an Atlassian Partner and Reseller.
